Qualifications
Physician holding a full, active, unencumbered license to practice allopathic medicine/surgery (WV Board of Medicine) or osteopathic medicine/surgery (WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine), in good standing and not under probationary restriction; must complete DATA 2000 (Drug Addiction Treatment Act) training if prescribing partial opioid agonists, plus applicable continuing education.
Duties the rule assigns
- Assumes responsibility for administering all medical services performed by the medication-assisted treatment program, either directly or by delegation to authorized program physicians/health care professionals under the medical director's direct supervision (W. Va. Code § 16-5Y-2)
- Oversees program operations and monitors regulatory compliance
