Take attorney review. The Medical Board's own 'Guidelines for Oklahoma Medical Spas' (agency guidance, not itself a statute) says a med spa must operate under a licensed physician; the codified rule underneath appears to be the general delegation and 'supervision and control' definition at OAC 435:10-1-4, not a med-spa-specific medical director statute. Registered Nurses
RNs (general licensure, not an APRN) are not subject to physician-supervision or collaborative-agreement requirements in Oklahoma; RN practice is governed by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act without a physician-oversight gate.
Even where an RN performs delegated medical-aesthetic procedures, Oklahoma's lack of a corporate-practice doctrine means entity ownership itself is not the gating issue; clinical delegation authority is a separate question.
Estheticians
Licensed estheticians ('facial operators' under the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering) practice independently within their scope — facials, makeup, waxing, lash application, microdermabrasion, chemical peels up to 30% concentration, and low-level radiofrequency/LED light therapy. Laser treatments and microneedling are explicitly EXCLUDED and require a medical license — a narrower scope than states (like Nevada) that include laser hair removal in the basic esthetician license.
Laser and microneedling services require a medical license and fall outside facial-operator scope entirely, so ownership for that narrower scope is a separate medical-entity question.
