Confirmed for nursing homes specifically (S.C. Code Regs. § 61-17.600.604), which tracks the federal SNF requirement (42 CFR 483.75(i)) already in force nationwide. South Carolina's separately licensed Community Residential Care Facilities (assisted living, S.C. Code Regs. Ch. 61-84) list only Administrator, Staff, Inservice Training, Health Status and Private Sitters in their staffing section, with no medical-director subsection: a confirmed absence at that lower-acuity tier.
